Want to learn how things work in Dungaria?

If so read on!.................

Summary
  • Treasure and Gold are not the same thing.
  • Gold stolen is converted into renown and treasure.
  • The ratio of the conversion depends on how well your dungeon is defended. A well defended dungeon will gain the Dragon more renown from the stolen gold.
  • You get gold as an income every hour based on when you first set up your dungeon.
  • Your gold income will convert to Renown and Treasure. Essentially, your gold income will replenish your treasure over time. You can increase this by having a well defended dungeon and by raiding other Dragons.

Introduction

A dragon's influence in the world of Dungaria is his Renown. In
accordance with the standards of draconic society, this is directly
proportional to the size of the pile of gold your dragon sleeps upon. A
dragon also has a stockpile of Treasure, which is a fraction of his
hoard set aside for replacing raiders, building rooms, buying milk, etc.
This is not stored in the hoardroom, and can't be stolen or lost in any
way (except spending it, of course).

Raiding, Renown, Treasure, and Gold!?

When a you successfully raid another player, your raiders steal some of
the gold of the hoard, reducing their Renown (but again, not their
Treasure). As your raiders return home, the gold they carry is
distributed. Some fraction of it is placed into your Treasure supply,
ready to spend. The rest, however, goes towards making your Dragon's
hoard a more comfortable place to sleep.

The key factor is that as players successfully raid you, decreasing the
size of your hoard, more of the incoming gold has to be diverted into
replenishing it, leaving less to recruit new raiders with. It's
important to defend your dungeon well because, while you won't actually
lose treasure as a result of people raiding you, the rate at which you
gain more treasure will be reduced. It's not all bad news, however: as
your hoard is rebuilt again, the fraction of gold you receive as
Treasure will go back up.

Income rate is treated in the same way - if your profile indicates you
receive 25.0/hour, it's saying you're receiving 25 /gold/ per hour; how
much you get as treasure depends on how many of your rivals have
successfully raided you. (incidentally, not all players get their hourly
gold at the same time - it's on the hourly 'anniversary' of completing
the tutorial)

In addition to raiding and treasure, you also:

  • Gain gold/renown/treasure by defeating parties of incoming raiders - the more expensive the raider, the greater the rewards for defeating it.

  • You can also lose renown if your party of raiders are defeated before they even reach your target's hoardroom. Reaching the hoardroom and then waking the dragon, however, is considered an 'honourable' defeat, and won't lose any renown.

I hope this has helped clear things up!

Doesn't explain the contradictions between the instructions and the tutorial. =\

Like, Check out the instructions. Half the info about combat appears to be missing; it basically says traps only have one dice roll (dodge vs. snare), when the tutorial says it has two (sneak vs. detect as well).

This thread is clearing up problems relating to gold and renown.

The other aspects of the game were not included.

I would suppose that what was in the Tutorial were more basic and what was in the Instructions were building on that.

If you believe that you've found a bug in the game please hover over the "Help" tab and select "Submit A Bug Report".

I see. Okay.

(Just an FYI, it was the tutorial that had the most info, not the instructions. ;))

So this is counted as a bug to be reported, right? I'll head over and do it now.

Ah, this is really useful. Personally, I'd worked most of this out, but a lot of people had been complaining about it, so thank you Jagex! :D

I've got some questions:

1. Why if your stats have been lowered, they're permemently lowered? I'll have to wait ages to get the money to replace them. Oh well, might as well check out the new RuneScape updates, :P

2. Why does the dragon eat two of your minions? One is a lot better, so more experienced players don't lose too much money.

3. How is victory decided when the attacking and the defending stats are the same?

4. Why are some people allowed to put traps in more rooms than others?

Thanks for your time. :)

Zig

2. Dragons eat a random number of raiders.

4. everyone gets one trap per room

3. and since combat is decided on dice rolls and not purely on stats, it just means that better stats mean the odds are tipped in your favour - not that you'll win. Identical stats basically mean you've got a 50/50 chance of winning.

Hi Vimescarrot,

The instructions say:

"Rooms are rated in four areas: Attack, Defence, Snare, and Detect."

The tutorial also states how the stats work:

- Your Attack vs. Enemy Defence.
- Your Defence vs. Enemy Attack.
- Your Dodge vs. Enemy Snare.
- Your Sneak vs. Enemy Detect.

I hope this helps.
