Welcome to the Arcanists Forum!
This forum is for players of the FunOrb games. You can find lots of interesting information on the forums, share views with other players and let us know what you think of FunOrb!
You will notice that the forums are divided into categories so that similar information is all held together in the same place – which makes it much easier to find a topic you are interested in!
When you enter a forum you will see all the threads (sometimes called topics) that have been created by other players. When you find one that sounds interesting click on it and have a read. If you want to add to the discussion you can reply to the thread and your comments will be added to the bottom.
As well as reading other people’s threads you can start your own! Remember to check back and see how many other people have responded to you – your topic could be so interesting that it gets hundreds of replies!
Before you post anything there are 2 pieces of information you need to be aware of. They are called the 'Code of Conduct' and 'Forum Specific Rules'.
When you first enter a forum you will see both of these in yellow text towards the top of the page – right under the title of the forum you are in.
The Code Of Conduct This is the same throughout the whole of the FunOrb forums – so you don't need to keep reading it for each forum. However, you should take a few minutes to read through this section carefully at least once – it tells you all the things that you are cool and not cool for these forums.
Forum Specific Rules Each individual forum has its own set of 'Forum Specific Rules'. These rules apply to that particular forum only. Normally they just tell you the sort of things that will be well received, or not so well received, in that forum. We need these rules to make sure that everyone's topics are kept in the right place and are easier to find.
As each forum is slightly different you should always read the 'Forum Specific Rules' for each forum before you post in it – that way you can be sure that your post is correct and in the right place and doesn't break any of the rules. You want to make sure that your post gets the positive attention it deserves.
See a post/thread that’s not appropriate or in the wrong place? Have no fear, you can report that thread/post to us in Forum Support and we’ll dash straight to it.
What is welcomed in Forum Support? We welcome reports of threads or posters on threads which are breaking our forum rules. Examples include (but are not limited to) people who are using offensive language, inappropriate content and spamming.
When adding a post to this forum please remember to give as much detail as possible so that Jagex or Forum Mods can quickly locate the problem area and address it. Useful information to include in your posts includes quick find code, name of thread, forum location, page and post number of offending post.
Now a word about Moderators – who they are and what they do. There are 3 kinds of Moderators (sometimes just called mods). They are - Player Moderators, Forum Moderators and Jagex Moderators.
All Moderators are registered with Jagex (the company that runs FunOrb) and have become Moderators at our request. You cannot 'make' yourself a Moderator.
Player Moderators (P Mods) P Mods have silver crowns next to their name when they type in text chat – however on the forums, P Mods posts look just like regular player posts.
P Mods are regular games players but they have been noticed as being honest and reliable players who stick to the rules. P Mods have usually been playing for a long time.
P Mods help Jagex in the games. They do this by reporting people to us who break the rules (like using offensive language) and they often offer help and advice to other players. If players are being particularly offensive or breaking rules frequently P Mods can stop the player from talking (typing) in FunOrb for a short while.
Forum Moderators (F Mods) F Mods have green crowns next to their name and green backgrounds to the left side of posts they make in the forums. Like P Mods, they are also regular game players but they also have expert knowledge in the forums and the forum rules.
They help Jagex by reporting, editing, deleting and moving player’s posts that have broken the rules or have been put in the wrong place.
F Mods often offer forum advice to people. They also have the power to issue warnings and mute people on the forums.
They follow a strict process and always work closely with Jagex to ensure that everyone is treated fairly.
If an F Mod offers you advice about how you’ve posted, it’s worth listening to them. These guys really know their stuff.
Jagex Moderators (J Mods) J Mods have gold crowns next to their name and gold backgrounds to the left side of posts they make in the forums (like this one). J Mods are always adults and are employed by Jagex.
Regular players can never become J Mods unless they happen to join the Jagex company and become an employee.
J Mods work closely with the other Moderators and players to make sure that FunOrb is a safe and fun place to be.
You are strongly advised to adhere to any advice that J Mods offer. If they are asking you to stop making particular comments or posts then it is best to do as they ask.
J Mods will always be professional and polite, if a little silly sometimes. However they must enforce the rules and have unlimited authority over your FunOrb account.
Remember that no type of Moderator (even Jagex staff) will ever ask you for your account details or any personal information. If anyone says they are a Moderator but does not have a silver, green or gold crown by their name then they are not. Do not give them any information they are asking for. Under no circumstances should you give anyone, even a Moderator, your password.
Finally, please enjoy the FunOrb forums – we love running this great place and reading all your interesting posts – if you stick to the rules and contribute to the forums I'm sure you will find it as much fun as we do!
